Apology

I was a person not keen on giving or accepting apologies. I fell I apologize or I am sorry is like water that rolls off your back. If it ha no meaning it might as well go down the drain. I am a strong believer in instead of telling me , I am sorry or I apologize. Show me you are genuinely sorry  by not repeating the offense. Weather it is something said or did cause if a person is really sorry it will no it be repeated.

An apology means little if the behavior continues because it was never sincere to begin with and or the person has no regret or was not mindful in committing to changing. They are not being mindful about the consequences of their actions and the pain that it caused the person.

Apologies are crucial in maintaining a healthy relationship if the apologia is really a sincere one. A sincere apology can mend wounds, rebuild trust, strengthen connections that are weak while a half hearted one can or very defensive one can make the situation far more worse.

Apologies are not just about saying , “I am sorry.” There are acknowledging harm, taking responsibility for your actions or lack of, while validating the other persons feelings. It takes a lot of maturity to admit you are wrong and apologize. It shows growth in character , emotional maturity and signals that you value the person and the relationship enough to own up to your mistakes.

A sincere apology has the power to heal it  can be very transformative. It fosters empathy, opens the door for forgiveness, and shows you are willing to take responsibity for your role int eh situation. You build a stronger more authentic relationship – as you grow as a person in the process.

So next time you find yourself in the wrong, don’t under estimate the power of an apology. Those two simple word “I’m sorry.” If presented with whole hearted honesty , empathy and genuine commitment  where your not only sorry but show that in your actions by not repeating the situation and do better they can make all the difference.
