Breath By: Jonita Saint-Leger

Breath

By Jonita Saint-Leger

There are days when my lungs are tight

Pollen blowing

Can't breath right

These days I'm still and contemplative

Meditating on my mortality

In and out, I skipped a beat

Rhythm's Off

So I hunker down

And focus

On what I can do

In the hear and now

I can't run

Can't jump

Can't shake my thang

I can sing though

To push life out

Can Write though

To chronicle my gratitude

Can love too,

The days I had and those to come

When breathing comes with ease.
